The Book Thief is a 2013 American-German war drama film based on the novel of the same name by Markus Zusak, directed by Brian Percival and written by Michael Petroni, with an Oscar-nominated musical score composed by John Williams. The Book Thief tells the story of Liesel, an extraordinary and courageous young girl sent to live with a foster family in World War II Germany.
